Hey You – The Drama Magnet!
You know the feeling, the calm before the storm.
No crying friend, no hectic running around, no deadline looming, no relationship issues. It’s about to hit the fan!
Yep, proverbial sh!t magnet. Recognise it? If not you, someone else (who you can send this blog to!).
Why does this happen? Why is there always so much drama?
Simply put you have trained yourself to NEED the drama on a cellular level. Yes that’s right – you are physically craving the crazy, unpleasantness of drama, seems nuts right!
Let’s get sciency.
Your body is mass of cells. Each of these cells has receptors, of all these receptors you have some happiness and some negativity receptors.
So how do you develop the receptors? I’ll hand it to an old Cherokee proverb.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life:
A fight is going on inside me, he said to the boy. It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, which wolf will win?
The old Cherokee simply replied, the one you feed.
If your life is full of drama and you find the negativity in every situation you are feeding the negative receptors. If you surround yourself with happiness and enthusiasm you will develop happiness receptors.
Put simply, whichever type of receptor you have more of you seem to pick up in your environment – and if it isn’t there – you create it!
As your cells multiply they split in half, therefore splitting the number of receptors. If you have 6 negative and 2 happiness receptors in a cell when it splits you will have 3 negative and 1 happiness receptor in each cell and so on and so forth.
Can you see what happens? You become a cellular drama magnet!
To stop the negative receptors growing and multiplying is to starve them. As awful as that sounds! Every time you go to make drama STOP. Every time you feel people creating drama LEAVE. Lock yourself away and do things that make you happy. Avoid gossip.
Doing these things will soon see you come back to neutral with even numbers of negative and positive receptors.
You need both, you really do. If you are all happiness you will bounce of the walls with enthusiasm, make decisions without considering the downside. You are likely to make a poor decision as well as annoying everyone around you.
If you are all negative receptors then you will be a Debbie downer and no-one will want to be around you.
So find peace – find quiet, starve your negative receptors and come to neutral – you will love your drama free life… Trust me 😉
